Custom Varsity Jackets Made for Streetwear and Team Brands
Rifago Industries makes custom varsity jackets for streetwear labels, team brands and merch programs that want a jacket built to their own tech pack. We cut wool bodies, set leather sleeves, knit rib trims in your colours and stitch chenille letters in-house. Orders start at 30 pieces per style, sample production takes 10–12 business days, and bulk production runs 14–16 business days.

Have a design ready? Send your tech pack or a rough sketch for a free feasibility review. Our team replies within 1 business day with a sample quote and a confirmed sample production date.
Why Brands Choose Rifago Industries for Custom Varsity Jackets
Many suppliers sell a varsity jacket as a blank body and add a patch at the end. We build each jacket panel by panel instead, so the fit, the wool shade and the letter placement follow your spec rather than a catalog. Your customers get a garment that looks designed, not decorated, and your brand gets a product nobody else can reorder from the same supplier list.
Our floor handles cutting, sewing, chenille, embroidery and packing under one roof. One team stays accountable for the whole order, from the first tech pack question to the AQL 2.5 inspection report you receive before dispatch. Brands that move to us from 100-piece minimums usually start with a 30-piece trial, then scale once the first drop sells. It is the same model we use as a custom streetwear manufacturer for hoodies, tees and sweatsuits.

Low-MOQ Varsity Jacket Production From 30 Pieces per Style
Many varsity jacket factories ask for 100 pieces or more before they cut a single panel. Our low MOQ starts at 30 pieces per style, so a new label or a small team can order custom varsity jackets without carrying stock it cannot sell. The same approach runs across every category we make as a low MOQ clothing manufacturer.
How the 30-Piece Minimum Works Across Sizes and Colorways
The 30-piece floor applies per style and design, not per colour. You can split one style across two colorways and a full S to XXL size run, for example 15 black-and-cream jackets and 15 navy-and-gold jackets. Each colorway still gets its own lab dip and its own approved swatch.
Small batches work because we share cutting layouts and wool sourcing across orders in the same production window. That keeps the unit cost of custom made varsity jackets sensible at 30 pieces. You can test a drop with real customers before you commit to a bigger run.
Scaling From a Trial Drop to a Full Season Run
Your pattern files, approved sample and trim specs stay on record after the first order. A reorder of custom varsity jackets starts from that approved baseline. The second run of 300 fits exactly like the first run of 30, with no new development fees and no second sampling round unless you change the design.
Quality control does not change with order size. A 30-piece run goes through the same in-line checks and AQL 2.5 inspection as a 1,000-piece season order. Per-unit pricing steps down as your volume grows, so a successful drop becomes more profitable on every reorder.
Cut-and-Sew Construction for Custom Made Varsity Jackets
Every jacket we ship is cut and sewn from raw materials on our own floor. Custom made varsity jackets need more components than most outerwear: a wool body, two leather sleeves, a lining, three rib trims, snaps and decoration. Construction detail decides how the jacket looks after a season of daily wear. Our cut and sew apparel manufacturers team runs the same process for every category we produce.

Tech Pack Audit and Pattern Grading
Before we cut anything, a pattern maker reviews your tech pack line by line. We check body length, sleeve drop, rib proportions and letter placement. Then we flag any measurement that will drift once leather meets wool. A short call at this stage saves you a second sample round.
Pattern grading carries your proportions from XS to 3XL. Chest letters stay centred and sleeve stripes line up at every size. The rib cuffs keep the same ratio on a small and on a 3XL, so the whole size run looks like one design.
Panel Cutting, Quilted Lining and Rib Knit Trims
We cut wool panels and leather sleeves on separate tables and bundle each order by shade lot. Your fronts, backs and pocket welts come from the same wool roll. You never receive a jacket with two slightly different blacks on one body.
Linings come in a quilted lining for warmth or smooth satin for lighter streetwear drops. Our rib knit trims for the collar, cuffs and waistband are knitted to your Pantone references, with one or two contrast stripes placed exactly where your design shows them.
Snap Fronts, Pockets and Stress-Point Finishing
Metal snap buttons go on with a calibrated press, and every batch passes a pull test before packing. Welt pockets get leather trim that matches the sleeves, so the front reads as one finished piece.
We bar-tack pocket corners and sleeve joins, the points that take the most strain when someone wears the jacket every day. Twin-needle top-stitching along the yoke and armholes keeps the shape crisp after months of wear.

Wool Bodies With Leather Sleeves
The classic build pairs a wool body with leather sleeves. Custom varsity jackets leather sleeves come in genuine cowhide, lambskin or PU, and each choice changes the feel, the care and the cost. Cowhide retains its shape for years. In contrast, lambskin feels softer from the first wear.
PU leather suits brands that want the classic two-tone look at an accessible price. We cut every sleeve type from the same pattern, so you can sell a premium leather varsity jacket and an entry version of one design side by side.
Satin, Fleece and Hooded Varsity Variations
Satin shells give a lighter, glossier jacket that suits retro and streetwear drops. Fleece bodies make a softer, casual version that works well for merch and events.
We also build custom varsity jackets with hood, either sewn into the collar or detachable with a zip. Rib trims, snaps and chenille stay the same, so the hooded version still reads as part of your varsity line.
Building a Premium Leather Tier Into Your Line
Some brands sell two price tiers of the same design. The entry tier pairs a wool body with PU sleeves, and the premium tier swaps in cowhide or lambskin. Custom leather varsity jackets with full leather bodies are possible too, cut from the same pattern so sizing stays identical.
A wool leather varsity jacket in cowhide is the version most heritage buyers expect. In contrast, a leather letterman jacket in lambskin suits high-end streetwear. Offering both lets you sell custom varsity jackets at two price points without developing a second pattern.
Chenille, Embroidery and Tackle Twill Decoration
Decoration turns a well-made jacket into your jacket. We produce chenille in-house and run embroidery, tackle twill and screen printing on the same floor, so one team controls colour and placement. Here is how the four methods compare.
Chenille
Raised, looped texture
Chest letters, back arcs, sleeve numbers
Bold letters and shapes
Tackle twill
Flat layered fabric with a stitched edge
Names, numbers, sleeve text
Clean lettering
Flat embroidery
Fine stitched detail
Left chest logos, cuff text
Small logos and fine lines
Screen printing
Flat ink
Linings and satin shells
Large graphics on smooth fabric

Chenille Letters, Numbers and Patches
Our chenille patches start as a felt base with looped yarn stitched on top, then get a felt or embroidered border. Chest letters, back arcs and mascots are sized to your panels, and we can make custom patches for varsity jackets as loose pieces for your own events.
We match chenille yarn and felt to the same Pantone references as your rib trims. The letter, the cuffs and the waistband stay in one consistent palette across the whole run.
Embroidered Logos for Custom Varsity Letterman Jackets
Custom varsity letterman jackets often mix chenille with chain-stitch or flat embroidery for script names and small logos. Chain-stitch gives the vintage, looped look many heritage brands want on a custom letterman jacket.
For custom embroidered varsity jackets, we stitch a sew-out on your actual wool before bulk, because embroidery behaves differently on dense wool than on cotton. You approve the sew-out photo, and that file becomes the reference for every jacket in the run.
Placement Planning for Varsity Jacket Patches
Good placement makes custom varsity jackets look intentional. We map every element before sampling: chest letter, back arc, sleeve numbers, cuff text and lining print. Our placement sheet shows each position in centimetres from a fixed seam, so every size matches.
Varsity jacket patches can mix methods on one garment. A chenille chest letter, a tackle twill name and custom made varsity jackets with embroidery on the cuff all work together when the placement sheet controls spacing and scale.

Private Label Trims and Packaging for Your Varsity Line
Private label means your brand shows up everywhere on the jacket and nothing of ours does. We source and attach every trim during production, and our private label clothing manufacturers service covers the same options for your other categories.
Woven Labels, Leather Patches and Hang Tags
Woven labels go at the neck or inside the placket, with care and size labels in the side seam. Many brands add a small leather patch or a metal badge on the lining for a premium detail.
Printed hang tags carry your story, price and barcode. We attach them with your chosen fastener, so every jacket arrives ready for the shop floor.
Folding, Polybagging and Carton Labelling
We fold custom varsity jackets to your spec, bag each one and sticker it by size. Cartons carry your SKU, colorway and size breakdown, so your warehouse can receive the order without opening every box.
Team orders can be packed by player name and number instead. Tell us how you distribute, and we pack to match.
Not sure which wool or leather suits your line? Ask for a swatch pack, or start with a 30-piece trial run in one colorway before you place a full season order.

What Your Sample Jacket Includes
Your sample is a full production-quality jacket, not a mock-up. It uses the approved wool, the chosen sleeve leather, knitted rib trims in your colours and the real decoration. You see exactly what your customers will receive.
We photograph the sample against your tech pack and list every measurement. If you request changes, we confirm them in writing before bulk, so your custom varsity jackets match the approved sample piece for piece.
Lab Dips and Pantone Colour Matching
Team colours have to match across three different materials: wool, rib knit and chenille. We dye lab dips for each one against your Pantone TCX reference and send them for approval before bulk.
Matching all three at the lab dip stage protects you from a common problem: cuffs that look a shade off from the body once the jackets arrive.
AQL 2.5 Inspection Before Dispatch
Our QC team inspects every order under the AQL 2.5 standard. Inspectors measure jackets against your spec within ±1–1.5 cm, test snap strength, and check stitch density and letter placement.
You receive the inspection report before the cartons leave. If anything falls outside tolerance, we fix it on our side before dispatch, not after the jackets reach you.
Custom Varsity Jackets FAQ for Brand Buyers
Price depends on three things: materials, decoration and quantity. A wool body with PU sleeves and one chenille letter costs less than lambskin sleeves with full chenille and embroidery. Send your tech pack and target quantity, and we will quote an exact per-unit price.
They are the same garment. The name varsity jacket describes the style. Letterman jacket comes from the school tradition of earning a letter for a sport. We make both with the same construction, so the name on your product page is up to you.
Our minimum is 30 pieces per style or design. You can split those 30 across colorways and a full size run, and your reorders start from the approved sample.
Sample production takes 10–12 business days after we confirm your tech pack. Bulk production takes 14–16 business days after you approve the sample.
